Posted June 25th, 2007
Flextraction Ltd, the Melton Mowbray, specialist solution provider capturing at source all forms of airborne contamination – dust, fume and oil mist and sole UK representatives for Fumex AB, Sweden localised extraction arms and filters manufacturer has introduced a wide range of Fumex ATEX approved local explosive gas and dust extractor arms, which meet European directive 94/9 EC category 2 for equipment intended for potentially explosive atmospheres.

Models R EX, R EXH 1500, 2000, 3000 and 4000 available in lengths of 1.5m, 2m, 3m and 4m as well as RZ EX 4500 and 6500 with longer arms up to 6,6m, are designed for use in the chemical, petrochemical, gas distribution, food processing, pharmaceuticals and paint manufacturing industries as well as laboratories.
The wall bracket and arm for the R EX models are made of powder coated steel with conductive metallic grey paint, whilst a stainless steel spring balances the arm’s dead weight, the anti-static polyester-polyurethane hose is ATEX marked R<108Ω and they have a manual damper with conductive knob.
The RZ EX models have all parts earthed and the arm structure is supplied complete with steel wall bracket finished in conductive powder coating. The longer arms are all one piece providing a low pressure drop, limiting dust deposits for easy cleaning.
The R EXH models have stainless steel, SS EN 2343 wall brackets and arms with stainless steel components, joints, screws and conical hood for use in aggressive environments and for easy cleaning.
The smooth bore hoses are easily changeable and available in 75, 100, 125, 160 and 200mm diameters in a range of lengths up a maximum working radius of 6,270 mm, whilst all externally mounted components are designed to reduce any solids build up. Accessories include conical hoods as well as a range of ceiling mounting brackets.
LFK Local Filter Kits For The Beauty Industry
Posted June 25th, 2007
Flextraction Ltd, the Melton Mowbray, specialist solution provider capturing at source all forms of airborne contamination – dust, fume and oil mist and sole UK representative for Fumex AB, Sweden extraction arms and filters manufacturer has launched single station and LFK 250F twin arm filter system complete with Terfu 50mm diameter local extractor arms and FS600-50ESD flexible suction nozzles

The LFK150F and LFK250F are part of a series of Local Filter Kits (LFK) and these models are specially designed for use in beauty and nail salons to remove hydroxyethyl, methacrylate, acetone and buffing dust as well as other odours arising from products used in the health and beauty industry, from the beautician’s and customer’s breathing zone. It is capable of filtering contaminants with an efficiency of 99.99% down to 0.3micron.
They are both based on the LF50PG-230 particle/gas fan and filter combination providing an . The fan has a high power 195W, 230V 50Hz motor and is compact with an integral speed control operating at a very low noise level around 60 dB(a). The multi-stage filter utilises an H13 standard HEPA filter, separating parts to 99.99% for 0.3 µm particles. A 6.5 kg activated carbon filter then filters gases, vapours and other odours.
The LFK 250F is supplied with hose adaptors and interconnecting ductwork.
IC11 Air Filter For Industrial Printers, Now Available From Flextraction
Posted June 1st, 2007
Flextraction Ltd, the Melton Mowbray, specialist solution provider capturing at source all forms of airborne contamination – dust, fume and oil mist and sole UK representatives for TEKA GmbH, Germany, localised extraction arms portable and fixed filter systems manufacturer has launched an infinitely adjustable, 360m3h capacity, IC11 air filter for industrial printers.

Modern inkjet printers using solvent inks release harmful and irritating gases, which need to be extracted. TEKA’s 230V, 50Hz or 110V 60Hz, IC11 Air filter extracts these gases during the printing process using activated carbon filters. Controlled using a colour screen display and keyboard. It is completely powder coated inside and out and the carbon filters are easily accessed and changed through a large user friendly service door. As printers are usually located in small rooms, this unit has a highly effective silencer producing 60dB(A). Filtered air is either fed back into the working room by a 125mm outlet spigot or to the outside via a hose.
It has an automated start-stop system, so that it only operates when the printing equipment is in operation. A run-on time can be set to meet the operators individual requirements.
The unit has four wheel for easy mobility, measures 365mm wide x 801mm d x 797mm high and weighs only 66kg.
The IC11 air filter can be supplied with a standard 1,500mm wide collection element for use with larger industrial printers found in the market.
