flextraction's Hood Positioning Device (HPD) is the result of over 15 years use and application of flexible extraction arms.
flextraction has always strived to maintain its purist principles of LEV design and to offer the correct solution for any LEV problem. We are aware that 'off the shelf' flexible extraction arms are often misapplied. The HPD has been designed to address the deficiencies of conventional flexible extraction arms, in line with current HSE guidance, by enabling the correct design and positioning of LEV hoods.
To this end, flextraction has invested in engineering expertise and computer modelling software and has gone through a stringent development process to bring the new HPD to industry. The engineering within the HPD enables it to accommodate purpose-designed hoods that can be positioned as demanded by the process.
All Hood Positioning Devices come with a 5 year warranty (see PDF for more details) and are available in Polyester Coated Black, Texture Conductive Black (ATEX), or Stainless Steel finishes.

The suction cranes consist of a swivel, powder coated sectional steel beam. The joints are equipped with adjustable brakes. The suction pipes are connected to flexible hoses near the joints. An infinitely variable telescopic extension with an exhaust ventilation hood is attached to the suction crane at the front beam.
For suction cranes of 160 mm in diameter with a reach of up to 6 metres it is possible to attach tools by means of the two-part support beam. Loads of up to 50 kg (e.g. a mechanical wire box) can be supported on the first beam. The second beam can take loads of up to 10 kg (e.g. a set of hoses). The suction cranes are suitable for connecting central units or equipping individual fans and are supplied with a separate wall bracket.

The spot exhaust ventilation tube is infinitely adjustable and can be tilted forwards and by up to 180°. The exhaust ventilation hood and integrated throttle valve can also be tilted in any direction. The spot exhaust ventilation tube is especially suited to gathering contaminants on permanently installed welding benches.
The new style telescope will not wear or tear and does not require any counterweights. The design and outside joints ensure that the smoke is captured at considerably reduced fan output. This also reduces the noise level. The product comes complete with the wall bracket and Ø 160 mm adapter needed to connect it to a central unit or individual fan.
