    Wally Gilder

    Managing Director

    My working life started as an apprentice draughtsman with a company manufacturing acoustic products, finishing with a Full Technological Certificate in Research & Development, then returning to full time education studying Work Study & Management Services before becoming Organisation & Methods Officer. I joined Dust Control Equipment Ltd and following a 2 year training program became a field Sales Engineer. I have worked in Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) since 1975 and was Principal Consultant of IEC Consultants Ltd and more recently Managing Director of Flextraction Ltd, becoming Chairman in 2011. 

    I am a founder of the Institute of Local Exhaust Ventilation Engineers (ILEVE) and currently hold the post of Chairman. I have a very hands on approach to Engineering having designed and installed LEV plant throughout the world and have been involved in LEV training for over 20 years. 

    When not working, I have enjoyed playing squash for over 40 years and I am a BSAC qualified SCUBA diving instructor and additionally, a qualified Golf referee and a past Club Captain.

    Ryan Marsden

    Sales & Marketing Manager

    In June 2016 I took up the post of Sales and Marketing Manager at Flextraction, having been involved in the dust and fume extraction industry for a number of years. I am responsible for the development of the sales strategy, managing the sales team and ensuring the growth of new business partnerships. I have a young daughter, originate from Mansfield in Nottinghamshire where I live with my partner, and I enjoy clay pigeon shooting, walking my dog, a lively young Cocker Spaniel and being with my family.

    Joe Cunningham

    Commercial Services Manager

    Originating from Hamilton in Scotland, I enlisted into the Army in the early 1970s as a dog trainer, and following an accident in Hong Kong, took up a clerical and administrative role and left the services after a full career in 1994. I joined Flextraction in 2000 and for a number of years looked after the accounts. Latterly, I have been responsible for quality procedures (ISO 9001), product databases and the commercial services functions within the company.

    I have two older children and I live at home with my wife and three younger daughters. I have a strong interest in genealogy, enjoy playing tennis, and I follow Hamilton Academical Football Club.

    Hannah Bray

    Sales Office Manager

    In May 2008 I joined Flextraction as a Sales Office Assistant. Initially my role was to cover sales and administration, however, with a NEBOSH qualification and Health & Safety experience from previous employment has enabled me to oversee all internal Health & Safety matters. Additionally, I handle general, non-technical, enquiries and process and follow up quotations, liaise with customers, look after statistical data and manage the CoSHH scheduling.

    After leaving school at 16 I worked around the UK in Polo and Hunting yards before moving to America in 1993 where I trained polo ponies for professional polo players. I returned to the UK in 1999 and worked for a large American company where I progressed to become Facilities Team Lead. I live in a village 10 miles from Melton Mowbray with my little boy Charlie, where we enjoy village life with friends and family.

    Matt Howarth

    Contracts Manager

    I joined Flextraction in 2000, progressing to the position of Production Manager where I had responsibility for the procurement, manufacturing, welding of components for our Hood Positioning Devices (HPDs) and overseeing the workshop functions. Currently, I am responsible for all functions relating to the contracting role, from initial site visit, design and customer liaison, through to the organisation of the fitting team.

    Outside of work I have a passion for Motorsport, having raced for a number of years and I also enjoy course fishing and following Nottingham Forest Football Club.

    Helen Gilder

    Sales Office Assistant

    Following an extensive career with a major high street bank I joined Flextraction in February 2014. Initially providing administrative support to the sales team, I now assist with the sales function by preparing and submitting quotations to customers and processing orders received. I am also responsible for maintaining statistical data for the company. Melton Mowbray born and bred, I live locally with my husband and young daughter. I enjoy socialising and holidaying abroad.

    Emily Taylor

    Sales Office Assistant

    Prior to joining Flextraction I worked in estimating and sales in the timber industry. After training, including attendance on the P604 LEV course, I joined the team in the sales office. I answer customer’s enquiries and prepare quotations. I’ve been fortunate enough to attended some of our supplier’s manufacturing premises in Poland and Italy, seeing first hand the production processes. I enjoy travel and attending music festivals.

    Sales Office Assistant

    I joined Flextraction in September 2012 as a Sales Office Assistant and I am in the process of learning as much as I can about the dust and fume extraction industry. Currently, I provide administrative support to the sales team and prepare and submit quotations for standard products. I am lucky that the Flextraction team are extremely friendly and have helped me settle into the role.

    I live in Melton Mowbray and enjoy going to the local Rugby Club and walking and training my two boxer dogs; I have also recently started to learn the guitar.

    Sales Office Assistant

    I recently joined Flextraction to work as part of the sales office team.  My previous employment has been customer facing within a retail environment, and working as part of a team in an administrative role. 

    I was born in Syston, just outside of Melton Mowbray. I'm a very social person and when not at work I enjoy the odd opportunity to dance until my legs don't work and drinking until I have no soul!  I have a passion for shopping and love spending time with my friends and family.

    Sarah Loxton

    Sales and Purchase Order Processing Assistant

    I am the Sales and Purchase Order Processing Assistant, being responsible for the acknowledgment of all sales orders to our customers and the carrying out of the purchase function of all goods required to come into Flextraction. I have to ensure that everything is ordered, received and despatched in good time, something that can be quite stressful at times and involve a lot of tea drinking! Having been with my previous employer part time for some 17 years, I have settled in well since joining here full time in September 2011 and happily, I work with a good team. I enjoy the contact with customers and suppliers alike and have made good working relationships during my time here.

    I live locally with my husband and teenage daughter and in my free time, I enjoy eating out with my family and friends and relaxing at home with a good book.

    Production/Despatch Supervisor

    I am the Production/Despatch Supervisor which involves the production and assembly of our Hood Positioning Devices (HPDs) and preparing all completed orders for despatch to our customers. I am also responsible for reordering stock and ensuring that stock control is monitored efficiently. I joined the flextraction team in mid 2008 and enjoy working for a small local company. 

    I live locally with my wife and young daughter and out of work, my free time is spent gardening and following West Ham United, although my main interest is collecting and listening to music.

    Consultant

    I have worked in the Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) industry since 1990 when I joined IEC Consultants Ltd as director. Prior to this I was Engineering Manager for a leading vehicle exhaust silencer manufacturer. Having joined IEC Consultants Ltd as director it was soon realised the need for a UK based manufacturer and supplier of quality extraction equipment, which led to the inception of Flextraction Ltd where I was a co-director with roles in Sales, design and testing of LEV systems as well as HR and Health & Safety for the company.

    I left Flextraction in January 2015 and now perform an independent consultancy and inspection role.

    Away from work I enjoy foreign travel into which I incorporate a love of bird watching and an interest in wildlife and natural history. I have been an active squash player for 40 years which includes being a longstanding committee member at my local squash club.
